The Württemberg State Library is currently seeking a librarian (m/f/d) for the "Information and Interlibrary Loan" group.

The position is limited to two years and will be compensated according to TV-L E9b. If you have previously been employed by the state of Baden-Württemberg, the duration of the contract may be shortened. The position is generally divisible.


The main responsibilities include:

  • Providing advice at the information desk and answering phone inquiries
  • Issuing and returning nonloanable media
  • Conducting introductions to library use (tours, trainings in person and via video conference)
  • Processing written inquiries
  • Assisting in the development of the course program (creating instructions and selflearning materials, as well as designing course content)
  • Regular participation in evening and weekend shifts

We expect:

  • Completed training for the higher service in academic libraries or a bachelor's degree in library and information management, or an equivalent qualification
  • Good knowledge of information resources and research strategies
  • Commitment to keeping up with new developments and trends and incorporating them into the respective field of work
  • Communication skills, teamwork, and high resilience
