    Description

    Overview

    This role entails assisting the Assistant Director of Sales (ADOS) and the Director of Sales & Marketing (DOSM) in developing business and sales strategies for the Miami Beach Convention Center Campus. Responsibilities include aiding in achieving revenue targets, economic impact goals, and maintaining high standards of quality.

    The ideal candidate will exhibit leadership qualities, a successful track record in sales management, and a deep understanding of the events and convention industry.

    This position offers a competitive salary range from $72,000 to $79,000.

    The Miami Beach Convention Center (MBCC), an award-winning venue, offers a world-class event space following a significant renovation. With state-of-the-art facilities, including a Grand Ballroom, flexible exhibition halls, and numerous breakout rooms, the MBCC is an ideal location for conferences, tradeshows, and meetings. Its prime location near South Beach and cultural attractions makes it a sought-after venue.

    Responsibilities

    Revenue Generation:

    • Exceed sales goals and support team members in achieving theirs.
    • Drive revenue growth through proactive sales and acquiring new business.
    • Identify upselling opportunities and manage sales to maximize venue occupancy.
    • Collaborate with partners to ensure consistent selling approaches.

    Contract Negotiation:

    • Lead contract negotiations with clients and ensure favorable terms.

    Client Relationship Management & Business Development

    • Cultivate relationships with clients and industry stakeholders.
    • Work with partners to strengthen the MBCC's position.
    • Attend industry-related meetings and events.

    Booking Technology:

    • Utilize booking/CRM platforms for managing bookings.
    • Implement digital selling strategies and AI tools.
    • Devise sales strategies and marketing plans for the MBCC.

    Market Analysis:

    • Stay informed on industry trends and competitor activities.
    • Identify new business opportunities and growth areas.
    • Strategically plan to optimize the MBCC's market presence.

    Event Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with various departments to ensure seamless event execution.
    • Work with marketing on promotional strategies.

      • Reporting:

      Assist in generating sales reports and other tasks as assigned.

      Qualifications

      • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field.
      • Five years of experience in hospitality sales.
      • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
      • Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency preferred.
