    Applications Engineer (Warehouse Automation / Intralogistics) up to $85,000 + Benefits - Michigan US (Hybrid working)


    About the role:


    Market leading provider of Intralogistics / Warehouse Automation solutions with a global presence now seeks to recruit experienced Applications Engineers to join their existing team.


    Reporting to the Head of Applications Engineering in this role you will work closely with the Solutions Design team and in support of the sales team in order to create customised automated material handling solutions for our client's customers.

    This will entail supporting the sales function from initial customer contact to the last bidding presentation, providing expertise in the mechatronic capabilities the company's product portfolio.

    Specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to:


    Design and creation of the mechatronic material handling layouts through collaboration with solutions team, from initial concept to final contract design.

    Drawing the system layouts in both 3D and 2D CAD, product selection based on requirements, presenting designs to customers, and preparing technical content for sales proposals.

    Presenting and developing concepts during customer meetings and internal discussions to create optimised solutions that best fit the customer needs.

    Creating mechanical costing quotations for both high level concept indications and final contract value.

    Providing equipment functionality and capability updates and reports to the sales function and actively engaging with system architects and sales to support and develop proposals.

    Acting as a technical liaison to the sales team, suppliers, and customers.

    What we are looking for:


    2+ years' industry experience working within Material Handling / Warehouse Automation / Intralogistics or an adjacent sector, ideally gained in an application engineering, solution / concept design, product development or sales engineering role.

    Good experience drawing using AutoCAD (2D) and, SketchUp, SolidWorks or other similar 3D design software.
    A people person" with excellent interpersonal skills and customer facing experience.
    Enthusiasm, a love of learning and willingness to engage in ongoing training and development.

    Willing to work on a hybrid basis (3 days a week in the office) - candidates should be based within Michigan or be prepared to relocate to the area (relocation assistance is available).

    Willing to undertake a mandatory 4 week training course in Europe (two trips of two weeks each)
    Good Excel, MSWord, and PowerPoint skills.
    A bachelor's degree in engineering would be preferred but is not altogether essential.
