    Description

    Job Description: The Senior Financial Analyst is a highly visible role that is responsible for supporting the budgeting and forecasting processes, preparing monthly management reporting, leading annual long-range strategic plans, and supporting key strategic initiatives to drive future growth and profitability.

    The ideal candidate would be a strong self-starter and team player that is willing to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment. We are a growing company, and while this role will be responsible for several recurring tasks, this role will also regularly take on ad hoc tasks needed by upper management and/or other team members to advance the companys strategic priorities. The flexibility, time management, and maturity to handle the ebb and flow of assignments is as important as the technical and analytical skills required to be successful in this position.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
    • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with department heads to develop accurate financial projections.
    • Analyze financial performance against budget and forecast, identifying variances and providing insights to senior management.
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, highlighting key metrics and trends.
    1. Financial Modeling:
    • Develop and maintain complex financial models to support strategic initiatives, including investment decisions, pricing strategies, and cost optimization efforts.
    • Conduct scenario analysis to evaluate the potential impact of various business decisions on financial outcomes.
    1. Cost Analysis & Optimization:
    • Analyze cost structures across different business units and functions, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
    • Collaborate with operational teams to implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining service quality standards.
    1. Profitability Analysis:
    • Assess the profitability of different product lines, customer segments, and geographic regions, providing insights to support strategic pricing decisions.
    • Identify opportunities to enhance revenue streams and improve overall margin performance.
    1. Financial Reporting & Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting standards, including GAAP and internal policies.
    • Prepare financial statements and disclosures for external reporting purposes, such as quarterly filings and annual audits.
    1. Ad Hoc Analysis & Special Projects:
    • Undertake ad hoc financial analysis as required by senior management, providing timely insights to support strategic decision-making.
    • Participate in cross-functional projects to evaluate business opportunities, assess risks, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
    • 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in a distribution or logistics environment.
    • Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis.
    • Advanced knowledge of Excel and financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
    • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
    • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
