- Collaborates with College Admissions, the Director of Artistic Programming and Administration, and faculty to coordinate the annual admissions/audition process, including external adjudicators
- Supports recruitment and marketing efforts to ensure a robust pool of highly qualified applicants
- Partners with institutional leadership, marketing and communications colleagues, and relevant stakeholders to promote, present, and position AD artists, both within the NEC community and externally
- Ensures an active online presence for the AD programs
- Collaborates with relevant studio faculty to clarify and support AD candidates' goals for the program
- Curates career support, mentorship, and opportunities for AD candidates, tailored to individual and cohort needs.
- Coordinates professional development opportunities (e.g. workshops, panel discussions, etc) and networking relationships
- Engages industry experts as resources for AD candidates, facilitates introductions and other opportunities
- Fosters connection and collaboration amongst AD candidates
- Facilitates fellows' engagement with the broader NEC community
- Evaluates, strengthens, and develops programming and partnerships
- Coordinate and promote the NEC Emerging Artist Series, featuring AD candidates
- Foster relationships with area presenters to expand performance opportunities for AD candidates
- Liaise with national and international presenters, management companies, and artists to expand opportunities for fellows relevant to their discipline
- Ability to think strategically, execute work independently, and support arts leadership, training, and growth
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively with college-aged constituencies, including experience in mentorship/advising
- Ability to liaise confidently with artists, faculty, and industry leaders, as well as to build and steward professional relationships and partnerships

Overview:
The Artist Diploma Advisor plays a vital role in supporting and promoting the professional development of emerging artists pursuing the Artist Diploma (including classical instrumental, opera, and Jazz/CMA) through NEC's AD programs. This multifaceted position involves working closely with the artists to develop their professional trajectory, help prepare them to navigate the music industry, and enhance their overall artistic profile.
This position collaborates with relevant NEC faculty and administrators, and engages a diverse range of industry professionals to support Artist Diploma candidates as they move from student to professional life. In connection with relevant studio faculty, the Artist Diploma Advisor curates professional development, career advice, portfolio development, and facilitates performance opportunities, fostering influential relationships with managers, presenters, etc, to support Artist Diploma candidates in launching or augmenting their careers. Affirming NEC's commitment to artistic excellence, community, curiosity, and impact, the Artist Diploma Advisor will facilitate a high-level and collaborative student experience, as well as engagement with the NEC and greater Boston communities.
