- Oversee the overall clinical operations of the clinical physical therapy faculty practices, including quality patient care, customer service, and the growth/development of any new or existing clinical faculty practice locations.
- Market, expand, and foster the referral relationships between clinical physical therapists and Columbia University physician/nursing practices & non-Columbia University physician/nursing practices that may be local to the location of the clinical faculty practice.
- Provide clinical care to patients with a broad range of orthopedic or sports-related diagnoses.
- Collaborate, mentor, and guide Clinical Managers on overseeing the operations of each clinic, including, but not limited to, maximizing patient visits, fostering new clinician referral networks, clinical purchase orders that improve patient care, review of clinical faculty continuing education, DPT student and PT resident clinical coordination, and patient coverage calendar for PTO or sick days.
- Oversee clinical success metrics to achieve clinical goals and meet strategic objectives to foster improved performance.
- Recruit and on-board new clinical PT facultyand PT residents.
- Develop and maintain the policies and procedures of the clinical PT faculty practices.
- Ensure patient satisfaction through the development and implementation of patient satisfaction surveys/outcome measures.
- Foster new relationships with philanthropic patients to develop scholarship/funding for the Programs in Physical Therapy academic goals/scholarship.
- Develop new programs targeting specialty populations.
- Promote a collegial learning environment that integrates and develops research projects for clinical faculty and PT Orthopedic residents.
- Facilitate and ensure ethical and appropriate physical therapy billing practices that contribute to revenue cycle analyses/improvements.
- Teach in the DPT Program, in the academic and clinical components:
- Participate in DPT Program and University activities as appropriate, which may include, but is not limited to:
- Provide input for preparation of annual budget for area of responsibility.
- Work with managers from physician faculty practice as it relates to operations at the Westchester sites.
- Other duties as assigned by the Program Director.
- 5 years of clinical experience in musculoskeletal physical therapy
- 3 years of clinical managerial experience
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree required
- Terminal degree preferred (PhD, EdD, DSc), or significant progress toward achieving such.
- Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialty
- Current or eligible for New York State Physical Therapy licensure

Description
Reporting to the Director of the Programs in Physical Therapy, the Director of Physical Therapy Faculty Practice has managerial and administrative responsibility for the overall operations of the Clinical Physical Therapy Faculty Practices. The incumbent will work on program development and business strategies as it relates to their particular area of responsibility. They will also serve as the Westchester site administrator and act as the liaison for the overall department with real estate management, landlords, inspectors, etc. They will work collaboratively with department leadership to analyze current business processes and identify opportunities to increase operational efficiencies and quality of service.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
§ Provide didactic instruction in the DPT program, covering basic science and/or specialty content, based on the program needs and the specialty of the applicant.
§ Orientation, interviews, white coat ceremony, graduation, faculty meetings, and the development and implementation of continuing education programs within faculty practice locations.
