    Assistant/Associate Professor - PhD Clinical Psych - Educator Role

    Description:

    The Department of Family Medicine at the University of Virginia School of Medicine is seeking a full-time faculty Clinical Psychologist to join its integrated behavioral health program (also known as the Family Stress Clinic ), to direct the Family Medicine residency behavioral health curriculum and provide primary care behavioral health services within the Family Medicine Primary Care Center Clinic located in Charlottesville, VA. The incumbent will be responsible for direct patient care 7 half-day outpatient sessions/week, and may participate in the teaching and supervision of PhD practicum students, residents, and medical students.
    Responsibilities:
    • Directing the Family Medicine residency behavioral health curriculum, including developing and delivering behavioral health education sessions to medical residents on a regular basis.
    • Coordinating rotations for medical learners within the integrated behavioral health program in Family Medicine.
    • Providing behavioral health expertise for residency leadership activities.
    • Collaborating with the Director of Integrated Behavioral Health in Family Medicine to ensure the residency behavioral health curriculum addresses primary care behavioral health competencies.
    • Serving as a practicum supervisor for the clinical psychology practicum located in integrated behavioral health program in Family Medicine.
    • Providing patient care services within the Primary Care Behavioral Health model, including focused assessment, collaborative, stepped and measurement-based care, and collaborative decision support and interdisciplinary consultation in the primary care setting.
    • Providing behavioral health education expertise on interdisciplinary quality improvement and research projects.
    • Participating in departmental and health system committees.
    The Family Stress Clinic is the integrated behavioral health program located within the Department of Family Medicine. The program currently includes two clinical psychologists and serves as a psychology practicum site, hosting three doctoral students in clinical psychology each year. The psychologists work closely with an interdisciplinary health staff. The Department of Family Medicine is an extremely collaborative department with a long history of integration of behavioral health into both its clinical services and its residency.
    Qualifications:

    PhD or equivalent from an APA-accredited program
    Completed an APA-accredited internship
    Licensed or license-eligible in Virginia
    Skilled in interprofessional practice in a complex, academic medical environment
    Candidates must have training in clinical psychology, and experience in integrated primary care is preferred. We are seeking candidates who will contribute to our mission of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
