    Job Description:
    Responsible for maximizing profits and revenues for multiple hotels as assigned through group bookings, business travel and catering bookings. Responsible for prospecting and soliciting new business as well as cultivating strong, productive relationships with existing accounts.


    Responsibilities and Duties:

    • Maximize outcome of all sales initiatives by following up on leads and with clients in-house to identify additional business opportunities and effectively manage accounts.
    • Manage account details and log in sales system so that all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented. Coordinate various departments' participation in servicing accounts.
    • Travel out of town to solicit business in feeder cities if applicable.
    • Effectively grow and manage relationships within the communities.
    • Consistently perform at high levels of service. Interact with guests and all hotel employees in a professional, gracious, and friendly manner.
    • Performs other hotel duties as assigned.
    • Initiate the preparation of proposals and contracts for each hotel utilizing the proper revenue management protocol.
    • Conduct site inspections at each hotel with potential customers visiting guest rooms, meeting spaces and banquet facilities. Coordinate site visits and host meals in accordance with hotel policies for current and prospective clients.
    • Engage in outside sales activity to discuss business opportunities and entertain customers in local and assigned markets.
    • Know the competitive set in each market, their top accounts, their rate structure, their sales team and SWOT. Conduct parking lot shops and predator programs.
    • Share shift from competition knowing the decision makers and their hot buttons.
    • Participates in tradeshows, industry, and customer events. Set up exhibits to include bending, lifting and standing all day.
    • Participate in daily business review meeting and other scheduled meetings as directed by Market DOS and General Managers.
    • Participate in frequent and regular Lobby Ambassador duties to uncover potential group and BT opportunities as well as provide guest service.
    • Complete weekly sales activity reports and maintain our account data.
    • Achieve and exceed monthly and annual room revenue quota.

    The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that she or he can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.


    • Basic knowledge of each hotels structure /layout and how all departments interact.
    • Basic knowledge of various types of setup styles used in meeting rooms.
    • Extensive knowledge of each market and related meetings industry.
    • Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
    • Proficiency in the use and operation of the computer system with the ability to navigate efficiently through Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    • Ability to read, write and speak the English language to fully comprehend guest requests, memos, proposals, general correspondence, and similar written materials.
    • Strong interpersonal skills to provide overall guest satisfaction.
    • Self-motivated with competitive nature
    • Effective time management skills
    • Reliable transportation

    Other Expectations:

    • Regular attendance is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
    • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel and individual group needs.
    • Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of hotel facilities. Employees who violate Hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

    Hotel Specific:

    Experience: Previous sales experience in a hotel setting is preferred.


    Licenses or certificates:

    Grooming: All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available).


    Other: Additional language ability preferred.
