The Load Planner is a meticulous and strategic-minded individual who will play a crucial role in optimizing routing, allocating resources, and ensuring timely delivery of goods to our customers.
Essential Job Functions
- Focus on Safety, Service, Cost, Professionalism, and Respect in all aspects of the job.
- Route Optimization: Develop efficient routes for drivers to maximize delivery productivity while minimizing fuel costs and vehicle wear and tear.
- Resource Allocation: Assign work assignments to drivers based on their HOS availability, qualifications, and proximity to delivery/pickup locations.
- Utilization Management: Monitor and manage fleet utilization metrics, including load volume, vehicle availability, and driver hours, to ensure optimal resource allocation and costeffectiveness.

Time Delivery:
Coordinate with fleet managers and drivers to ensure timely pickup and delivery of goods, meeting or exceeding customer expectations for on-time service.
- Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication channels with drivers, fleet managers, the customer, and other stakeholders to convey routing instructions, updates, and any changes in delivery schedules.
- Problem Solving: Proactively identify potential issues or bottlenecks in routing and address them to prevent delays and disruptions in delivery operations.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, transportation regulations, and safety standards in all routing and load planning activities.
- Projects and/ or Reporting Requirements assigned by Site Manager.
- Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Excellent internal and external customer relation skills and ability to implement safety and compliance per company policy.
- Ability to lead by example and foster collaboration within the workplace and also with the highest integrity, professionalism and respect.
- Must continually change, adapt and be flexible in all areas of responsibility.
- Must be highly motivated, goal oriented and able to complete tasks on time.
- Must be able to multitask in a fastpaced environment.
- Previous responsibilities related to load planning for commercial truck fleets. Minimum of 1 year of experience in the transportation industry including routing and dispatching.
- High School Diploma; Bachelor's degree (in Business, Engineering, Logistics or related field) preferred.
- Above average knowledge of Operations, Hours of Service regulations, and DOT / State Regulations within the transportation industry.
