Plant Controller - New Lexington, United States - Cooper Standard
Description
The Plant Controller is responsible for adhering to the Company's Accounting Policies and Procedures by establishing a strong Internal Control environment in the facility.
This position has complete responsibility for P&L and Balance Sheet creation and integrity, to include all necessary analysis of the results.
They will manage the accounting staff and will operate as a business partner for the Plant Manager by identifying financial and operational risks and opportunities in advance and communicate them accordingly.
Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for adherence to the Company's Accounting Policies and Procedures. Establishes a strong Internal Control environment in the Plant.
Complete responsibility for P&L and Balance Sheet creation and integrity, to include all necessary analysis of the results.
Responsible for managing the Accounting staff.
Operate as the business partner of the Plant Manager.
Serve as a consultant and advisor on all financial matters in the plant.
Identify Financial / Operational risks and opportunities in advance and communicate them to management.
May, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this description.
Performs other related duties Education and Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Accounting or FinanceFive years of Accounting/Finance experience in a manufacturing environment.
Minimum of six months of supervisory experienced requiredPossess the necessary managerial skills to plan, organize, lead and control the Accounting functions.
Must be able to analyze financial statements and manufacturing variancesMust be thoroughly familiar with manufacturing processes, how BOM's & routings, labor reporting, standard costing and overhead allocationsMust be familiar with budgeting / forecasting processesAbility to communicate effectively within all levels of the organizationAbility to apply understanding of the business and how own team contributes to the achievement of resultsRequires in-depth understanding and application of concepts, theories and principles in own discipline and basic knowledge of other disciplinesExperience in Microsoft Office applicationsWillingness and ability to travel, as necessary Work Environment/Work Conditions:
