The digitization of society and industrial processes is based on the collection and analysis of information.

This begins in private environments and extends to building management, as well as monitoring and controlling industrial plants and production chains.

The
"Green-ICT-SEC-Hub" project (SEC stands for Sensor-Edge-Cloud) is dedicated to the systematic environmental assessment of sensors, sensor systems, and their data processing and networking in edge-cloud systems.

The environmental assessment includes the measurement or evaluation of the CO2eq footprint of each electronic component (e.g. sensor, microprocessor), the system, as well as the software or embedded AI models. Methods for life cycle assessment have already been implemented to evaluate the respective footprints in production and operation.

We are looking for support for our department
"Precise Localization and Data Analytics" at our location in
Nuremberg, in designing a tool to integrate the results from the project, as well as from literature research, into a knowledge database.

In addition, we aim to describe the operating parameters, such as assumptions, in this tool in a way that allows for benchmarking with alternative components.
