    Intec Automation, Inc., a well-established automation company with over 25 years of business experience, is seeking a senior-level design engineer to contribute to our continued growth. Located in Rochester, NH, we specialize in designing and constructing custom automation equipment, with a focus on the medical and life science industries. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the design and development of complex custom automation solutions from concept to completion.     As an Engineer, Design III specializing in custom automation, you will lead the design and development of advanced automation solutions tailored to meet the unique needs of our clients. Leveraging your expertise in mechanical engineering and CAD modeling, you will drive the creation of innovative automation systems that meet all requirement specifications from both customer and internal standards. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will ensure seamless integration of mechanical and electrical components, delivering robust and efficient solutions that optimize productivity and quality of the manufacturing process.     Key Responsibilities:

    • Design and Development: Lead the design and development of custom automation systems, including concept generation, detailed design, prototyping, and testing phases.
    • Technical Expertise: Apply advanced knowledge of mechanical engineering principles to develop robust and efficient automation solutions.
    • CAD Modeling: Utilize CAD software to create detailed 3D models of machine components and systems.
    • Component Selection: Select appropriate materials, components, and technologies to meet project requirements.
    • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical, electrical, and software components.
    • Prototyping and Testing: Lead the fabrication of prototypes and conduct rigorous testing to validate design performance and iterate on design improvements.
    • Documentation: Prepare comprehensive design documentation to support manufacturing, assembly, and maintenance activities.
    • Project Management: Manage multiple projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
    • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, and identify opportunities for innovation and process optimization.
    • Mentorship and Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering their professional development and excellence within the engineering team.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
    • Minimum of 7 years of experience in machine design and automation engineering, specializing in custom automation solutions.
    • Complete system-level design experience of automation machinery is a critical requirement for this role.
    • Proficiency in CAD software and familiarity with simulation tools preferred.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical systems.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
    • Proven project management experience, including prioritization and resource allocation.
    • Experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with autonomy and accountability.
