    UC's IDD Education Center programs support transition age youth and adults with a wide range of intellectual and developmental disabilities to discover and fulfill their purpose. Transition services are about more than managing life on campus. These services are essential for empowering young people and adults to realize their full potential and taking their places in the world – a world that is enriched through their contributions.

    IMPACT Innovation offers adults significantly affected by autism a year-round program that includes lifelong learning, healthy living, and vocational exploration through an inclusive experience on the UC campus. IMPACT Innovation was created in response to state and federal government initiatives to increase integrated employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. With the dedicated support from Impact Autism, other generous donors, waiver funding, and private pay options, IMPACT Innovation is able to provide adults 22 years of age and older meaningful employment opportunities and quality life experiences in inclusive settings which ultimately leads to more independent and fulfilled lives. Our strategic priorities include expanding enrollment; improving programming; being a national model for other programs and a training ground for future professionals.

    Job Overview

    Under general supervision from the Director of the IDD Education Center, the Program Director will direct, design, develop and manage the IMPACT Innovation Program. Specific areas of focus include managing and collaborating with three direct reports focused on meaningful programming in the areas of education, vocation, independent living, health and wellness, behavioral intervention, and non-medical transportation. Other primary responsibilities include: maintain rapport with Service and Support Administrators (SSA) and other agency staff; help develop and review Individual Support Plans; maintaining quality and compliance measures; work with Business Manager to manage budget, make strategic decisions, hire and train all student worker staff. May include some night and weekend hours, and driving (non-medical transportation).

    Essential Functions
    • Oversee the planning and management of daily programing.
    • Direct team of professional staff, graduate assistants, and student workers, oversee group programs and provide instruction.
    • Perform needs assessment by evaluating programs for quality, appropriateness of content and effectiveness of materials and make recommendations for ongoing growth and improvement
    • Oversee the development and writing of program materials
    • Address inquiries, provide information, and maintain records as it pertains to service provision.
    • Oversee budget, approve, and monitor expenditures, bill and monitor for Payment Authorization of Waiver Services (PAWS) via Brittco.
    • Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain quality and compliance measures as set by county, state, and university (training, safety, audits, etc.)
    • Act as a liaison with internal departments, external entities, and community organizations; including the IMPACT parent group.
    • Oversee the hiring and training of student worker staff.
    • May provide direct supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.)
    • Perform related duties based on departmental need.

    • Experience or education must be in a field related to education or working with individuals with
    • Intellectual and developmental disabilities.
    • Experience with programing and compliance in the field of adult services.
    • Experience with county and state level Department of Developmental Disabilities requirements and compliance procedures.
    • Experience with Medicaid billing
