Experience

WORK EXPERIENCE
Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience, University of Cincinnati Health, Cincinnati, OH
Moonlighting Psychiatrist September 2022 - Present

As a moonlighter with University of Cincinnati Physician, I provide coverage for three different practice
locations in the UC Health System. At West Chester Hospital, I cover the psychiatry consultation-liaison
service about once a month, seeing both new consultations and follow-ups. At Psychiatric Emergency
Services, located in the downtown campus across the street from the Emergency Department, I evaluate
and manage adult patients and supervise psychiatry residents and medical students. Additionally, I provide
weekend coverage for the inpatient psychiatric units located at UC Ridgeway generally once or twice
monthly.

Clermont Recovery Center, Greater Cincinnati Behavioral Health Services, Batavia, OH
Physician Consultant November 2021 - Present

I provide medication-assisted treatment, including buprenorphine and naltrexone formulations, for clients
with opioid use disorder. As a physician consultant with psychiatry training, I am also able to prescribe
unscheduled psychotropics to manage depression, anxiety, and disordered sleep. To address psychosocial
issues and other comorbid medical or more complex/acute psychiatric conditions, I order and review
relevant laboratory studies, refer patients to appropriate healthcare providers, and provide other community
resources.

New Season, Augusta Metro Treatment Center, Augusta, GA
Medical Director (Contractor) April 2021 - July 2021

My main responsibilities as a medical director included performing intake history and physical examinations, annual assessments, and review of laboratory results for patients with opioid use disorder. Being a buprenorphine-waivered clinician with a DEA license, I prescribed and managed both buprenorphine and methadone. I also participated in ongoing individualized patient treatment evaluations with clinic teams and submitted medication change orders as needed. To address other comorbid medical or psychiatric conditions other than opioid dependence, I referred patients to appropriate healthcare providers and other community resources.

Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA
Student Fellowship in Anatomic Pathology and Laboratory Medicine November 2010 - June 2011

During my fellowship, I rotated on various anatomic and clinical pathology services, with the duties and responsibilities of a first year PGY-1 pathology resident. The program included four months of surgical pathology, two months of adult and pediatric autopsy, one month of cytopathology, and one month of hematopathology, microbiology, and transfusion medicine combined. As a functioning resident, I signed out cases directly with attending physicians. During my adult autopsy rotation, I attended interdepartmental Chest Conferences and presented cases during the weekly morning Gross Anatomy conferences with the Medical Examiner. I also served as a teaching assistant for the Mechanisms of Disease and Therapeutic Interventions course at the Perelman School of Medicine while serving as the resident trainee on the fetal and pediatric autopsy service at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Hall Mercer Child and Family Unit, Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia, PA
Bridging the Gaps Community Health Internship Program Summer 2008

The Bridging the Gaps Community Health Internship Program links the training of health and social service professional students with the provision of health-related services for underserved populations. As an intern, I worked at the Hall Mercer Child and Family Unit at Pennsylvania Hospital, along with a nursing student and a dental student. I assisted the Summer Therapeutic Day Program staff with camp activities; reinforced appropriate socialization, conduct, and problem-solving skills with the children; and promoted positive behavior while stressing the importance of sharing and verbal communication. At the conclusion of the experience, my colleagues and I presented a poster titled "Behavior Modification to Promote Well-Being" at the Bridging the Gaps Annual Symposium. Additionally, we coordinated and participated in a workshop and discussion on cultural sensitivity and tolerance for symposium attendees.
