- Write well-structured code that implements software engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with other data scientists to maintain and improve on a large codebase.
- Develop machine learning and statistical methods to solve business problems.
- Produce clear documentation that other technical team members can follow.
- Work with business stakeholders to prioritize and engineer new features.
- Clearly communicate progress or challenges to product owners throughout each sprint.
- Implement testing best practices before committing code to production environments.
- Collaborate and maintain codebases using standard version control and GIT principles.
- Design efficient algorithms and optimization strategies to support the application.
- Perform detailed exploratory analysis to support or justify your hypotheses.
- Minimum of 3 year of experience working as a Data Scientist or in a related field.
- Master's degree in a quantitative discipline: Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or related field.
- Experience with SQL and relational or schema-less (NoSQL) databases.
- Experience with programming languages: Python, etc.
- Experience with cloud technologies: Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure, or related tools.
- Strong ability to work collaboratively within a team to solve complex problems.
- Experience applying mathematical optimization techniques to real world problems.
- Strong version control experience, especially working within a collaborative team.
- Experience working within the Utility Industry.
- Experience with GIS technologies like ESRI and ArcGIS

Our client is needing to hire a senior-level Data Scientist who will be joining their Advanced Analytics team. This individual will join a growing team of Data Scientists focused on a project pertaining to an application that does route optimization for field technicians. The Sr. Data Scientist will be focused on implementing new features and refactoring the current code base, among other daily responsibilities. To be successful in this role, they will need to have a strong background in mathematical optimization (such as: linear or mixed-integer programming, simulated annealing, and others), as well as with software engineering using Python and SQL. An ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver who takes initiative to make things better without being told. They have excellent communication with stakeholders and have a hybrid data science and software engineering skillset.
