    Role Description

    In this role, you will utilize your expertise and technical knowledge of water/wastewater evaluations, design & construction to serve as a Lead Technical Designer, Task Manager and/or Project Manager on local projects. This is a 'hands-on' role with an expectation of leading tasks and projects, managing staff, working directly with clients, and participating in business development activities.

    Role accountabilities:

    In this role, you will be a Project Manager and team leader who will utilize their technical knowledge and experience to develop municipal water/wastewater projects, lead the successful execution and delivery of those projects and develop the team's overall capabilities. This position leads projects from planning to design and construction of water/wastewater treatment plants/facilities, pump stations, stormwater systems, and distribution/collection systems, as well as creating construction documents/specifications and providing engineering services during construction. Additional responsibilities include:
    • Develops project scope, budgets, and delivery schedules for each assignment, and is responsible for ensuring tasks/projects are completed within budget and on schedule.
    • Participates in industry conferences/associations at the local, state, and/or national level via committee memberships, presentations, and/or leadership roles.
    • Participates in marketing and business development activities for the water/wastewater market in the region. This includes the development of proposals.
    • Works with other senior staff to manage clients in the region.
    • Coordinates execution of projects with other disciplines.
    • Develops small to large design projects from inception to completion.
    • Prepares construction packages (including all deliverables) for the engineering, procurement, and construction of water/wastewater systems for clients.
    • Creates and manages cost estimates and project schedules.
    • Performs detailed engineering calculations & analysis and utilizes design software to solve complex issues. CADD and Revit software knowledge is a plus, but CADD drafting is not required as part of this position.
    • Supervises and supports the work of others and mentors junior level engineer & design/drafting technical staff.
    • Maintains Arcadis' standards and specifications for municipal water/wastewater design & construction projects.
    Required Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering or a related field of study
    • 15 years of progressively responsible experience
    • Licensed Professional Engineer
    Key Skills and Attributes:
    • Staff development and supervision skills; including mentoring junior-level staff.
    • Strong, clear, and concise written and oral communication skills.
    • Client relationship skills: including preparation and development of proposals and client management experience with a successful record of accomplishment, delivering a variety of engineering projects that meet or exceed the expectations of the client.
    • Ability to travel 10% - 20%.
    • Experience in water/wastewater plant/facility design and construction administration/oversight projects.
    • Experience preparing, reviewing, and approving project drawings, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Master's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or an MBA
    • 20 years of progressively responsible experience
    • Secondary certification (W/WW Operators License, BCEE, PMP, LEED, ENV SP)
    • Active participation in regional (local/state) and/or national professional associations

    Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. These benefits include medical, dental, and vision, EAP, 401K, STD, LTD, AD&D, life insurance, paid parental leave, reward & recognition program and optional benefits including wellbeing benefits, adoption assistance and tuition reimbursement. We offer nine paid holidays and 20 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $104,920 - $157,380.
