    Description

    Role: R&D Engineer

    Location: Hartsville, SC

    Duration: Full Time

    Job Summary:

    We are looking for a passionate and innovative R&D Engineer to join our growing team

    In this role, you will play a key role in driving the development of next-generation flexible packaging products and technologies.

    You will work closely with stakeholders to understand market needs and translate them into technical specifications.

    Your expertise in materials science and packaging processes will be crucial in developing and testing new packaging solutions for our world-renowned brands.

    Responsibilities:

    Collaborate with key stakeholders to define technical goals for new product development.

    Lead technical activities for assigned projects, from concept to launch.

    Translate market requirements into detailed specifications and design packaging solutions that meet those needs.

    Develop and manage pilot trials, production trials, and filling/packaging trials.

    Coordinate effectively with internal and external resources to accomplish project goals.

    Stay current on the latest advancements in materials and processes relevant to the packaging industry.Build deep expertise in specific focus areas and serve as a technical resource within the company.

    Travel may be required to meet with suppliers, customers, attend conferences, and participate in industry events.

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Science, Packaging, or a related field (preferred).

    Minimum of 5 years of experience in a product development or manufacturing role.

    Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing processes including blown film production, extrusion coating and laminating, printing (roto/flexo), pouching, and form/fill/seal conversion (preferred).

    Strong understanding of material science, particularly of materials used in flexible packaging (OPP, PET, PE, Nylon, paper, and foil).

    Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

    Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

    Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

    Passion for innovation and a desire to develop new and improved products.
