- Collaborate with important parties to establish technical goals for new product innovations.
- Lead technical projects to create new flexible packaging structures, capabilities, or technological breakthroughs.
- Convert market needs into precise specifications and design products that meet these criteria.
- Supervise and carry out pilot, production, and filling/packaging tests.
- Interact with business executives and clients to review development tasks and requirements.
- Manage tasks efficiently using available internal and external resources.
- Stay updated on the latest material and process advancements to utilize and exchange knowledge within the company.
- Develop expertise in key focus areas and offer advice within the organization.
- Prepare and present written and verbal materials, project blueprints, updates, and reports for both internal and external audiences.
- Visit suppliers, clients, events, and other innovation collaborators.
- Collaborate with marketing, supply chain management, engineering, sustainability, and other departments to identify needs and answers.
- Education: Bachelor of Science, ideally in Engineering, Science, Packaging, or a related discipline.
- Experience: 5-10 years in a Product Development or Manufacturing position. Desired experience with manufacturing processes such as blown film production, extrusion coating and laminating, printing (roto/flexo), pouching, and form/fill/seal conversion.
- Technical Skills:
- Understanding of material science (OPP, PET, PE, Nylon, paper, and foil).
- Proficiency in new product development and packaging applications.
- Strong project management abilities, including multitasking, prioritization, time and budget management, planning, and execution.
- Superb technical writing and verbal communication skills.
- Additional Experience: Experience in retail confectionery, bakery, snacks, coffee, frozen foods, beverages, thermally processed items, or personal care segments is advantageous.
