    Job Description

    Job Description- Job Position: R&D Director for Thermoformed Packaging division

    • Responsibilities: Developing, designing, and qualifying new thermoplastic materials and processes
    • Work towards identifying sustainable packaging solutions
    • Manage and execute key projects from development to commercialization
    • Must be an expert in plastics extrusion, thermoforming, and material handling
    • Identify growth opportunities and drive projects to increase productivity, capacity, and efficiency across manufacturing plants
    • Provide expertise and recommendations on manufacturing equipment
    • Manage the technical integration of projects through collaboration with internal teams, suppliers, and equipment manufacturers
    • Originate new ideas to support the R&D product innovation and technology strategy
    • Establish a motivating and engaging environment in the R&D organization
    • Ensure compliance with company safety policies and procedures
    • Travel requirement: Up to 30%, mostly domestic
    • Job location: Corporate Office in Hartsville, SC
    • Required Qualification: B.S./M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Polymer Science
    • Experience: 7+ years of related experience in plastics manufacturing, processing (extrusion, thermoforming, tooling); experience in consumerbased food packaging is a plus
    • Skills: Strong technical capability, problemsolving skills, effective communication skills, ability to work in a fastpaced environment, highly organized, selfmotivated, handson work ethic
    • Salary: $104k $130k
    • Work type: In person
