    Your Role as College Success Advising Specialist

    The College Success Advising Specialist plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive support to college students, guiding them through various aspects of their academic journey.

    Primary Responsibilities

    Direct Student Support - 65%

    • Follow the structured college curriculum to assist students in financial aid, academics, social-emotional support, and career planning
    • Provide personalized support plans for individual students
    • Communicate regularly with students to ensure they are on track and provide necessary encouragement and resources
    • Guide students through financial aid processes and academic planning
    • Empower students to overcome obstacles and advocate for themselves on campus
    • Track student progress and outcomes effectively

    Caseload Management - 20%

    • Manage a caseload of college students, scheduling regular meetings and addressing their needs efficiently
    • Solve problems creatively to enhance student engagement and support
    • Organize and manage time effectively to meet support standards

    Project Management- 10%

    • Lead and support program design initiatives to improve student engagement and success rates
    • Utilize data to inform program enhancements and develop new interventions

    Program & Organizational Support - 5%

    • Assist in student and Ameri Corps recruitment efforts
    • Participate in key events and support organizational initiatives
    • Represent the College Possible brand positively in the community

    What You Bring

    Education/Certifications/Licenses:

    • Bachelor's degree required.

    Related Work Experience:

    • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in college access or higher education
    • Preference for experience in college advising and student success

    Computer/Software Skills

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Office

    Other Skills, Abilities and Requirements

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong interpersonal and coaching skills
    • Ability to problem solve and work independently
    • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time

    Physical Requirements:

    • Capable of lifting up to 15 pounds when necessary
    • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
