About Megan Tolbert:

My passion is education. I come from a long line of educators and principals and believe that teaching is in my blood. I enjoy creating new and innovative ways of looking at traditional topics and texts, as well as leveraging technology to transform the learning experiences of students both in a traditional and non-traditional classroom setting. 

Experience

I have been a classroom teacher since 2015. I am currently still a classroom teacher (9th-grade Survey of Literature) but also function as the Instructional Technology Coordinator for Illinois school district 208.

In the past I have taught 11th-grade American Literature, 9th-grade Reading and Composition, 7th-grade Social Studies, 6th-grade Ancient Civilizations, and 5th grade Reading.

Education

I have a BA in English Literature and Secondary Education from Spelman College.

I also have a Master's of Education in Learning Sciences and Technologies from National Louis University with an Illinois Technology Specialist endorsement.

I am currently getting my Learning and Behavior Specialist endorsement from National Louis University as well. I am slated to complete this endorsement by July 2022.
