Basic Function and Responsibility:


Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Plan, organize and implement recruitment and orientation activities and events targeted at special populations. Plan and participate in promotional activities, such as information tables, class visits and presentations, including developing marketing materials in conjunction with College Relations.
  • Create and post program info on Social Media sites to promote health career programs.
  • Plan, coordinate, and track assessment testing sessions for prospective students and provide indepth program information to groups and/or individuals.
  • Maintain student records as required. Compile, and prepare data and sensitive information for reports.
  • Participate in the registration, transition, and support of newly admitted students.
  • Collaborate with other departments throughout the college to provide resources and support success of students (Grants, scholarships, job fairs, etc.).
  • Facilitate student use of the Internet and other online resources to access relevant information for informed decisions regarding academic and career choices.
  • Maintain an ongoing connection with students as a resource for academic and career concerns. Refer students as needed to College resources/departments.
  • Assist in the development and coordination of schedules and conduct workshops and special programs for students.
  • Assist students in development of academic skills, focusing on current placement and/or academic performance data.
  • Research, develop and evaluate approaches to academic support, including use of technology.
  • Plan, schedule, and deliver Learning Fairs, classroom visits, and other events to promote academic support services.
  • Share administrative tasks for BNAT program, which may include compiling and reporting data and assisting in the planning and implementing of department initiatives (including coordinating fingerprinting for students and data enter for Health Care Worker Registry).
  • Conduct learning skills consultations with students and develop specific interventions to meet their needs.
  • Perform other jobrelated duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications and Working Conditions**:

  • Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in college student personnel work, counseling, adult continuing education, social work or related field.
  • Two years of related job experience, preferably working with adult populations.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to develop and conduct presentations for a variety of student audiences, are required.
  • Ability to utilize a keyboard to enter, maintain and manipulate data in a personal computer is required.
  • A high level of interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to deliver services in an environment where there is an emphasis on customer service are required.
  • Ability to interact professionally and tactfully with people of different levels of education, cultural backgrounds, and life experiences, and to exhibit an adequate level of respect to fellow employees and the College community at large.
  • Preferred experience with CRM, Banner, Spreadsheet.

Administrative supervision received from the Division Dean. Functional supervision received for the department Chair.

HOURS:
Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 2:00 pm (25 hours per week)





SALARY:
$26.88


Based on the needs of the college and with Administrator approval, some positions at the college may have hybrid schedule options available after 30 working days.

All employees must maintain their primary residence in Illinois, Indiana, or a reciprocal state with Illinois. Reciprocal states include Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Illinois has tax agreements with these reciprocal states. Employees may have their primary residence in Indiana since Indiana is adjacent to Illinois.
