- Prepare and analyze financial statements, balance sheets and profit and loss statements
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes
- Reconcile and maintain the company's intercompany accounts, including intercompany billing and invoices with purchase order transactions
- Provide financial reporting and analysis to management, highlighting trends, variances and areas of improvement
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Prepare and record detailed general ledger journal entries
- Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations prepared by junior accounting staff
- Ensure proper documentation and support for all financial transactions
- Administer the company credit card program
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts
- Monitor budget performance, analyze variances, and provide recommendations for cost control and efficiency improvements
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies
- Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations
- Identify inefficiencies in accounting processes and implement improvements for increased accuracy and efficiency
- Assist with the developing and documenting accounting policies and procedures
- Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making
- Analyze financial data and trends, providing insights to management for business planning and growth opportunities
- Manage cash flow by monitoring banking activities, preparing cash forecasts and initiating necessary actions to ensure liquidity
- Coordinate with other departments to optimize cash management processes
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting or related field required
- Minimum of 5 years related accounting experience
- Professional certification such as CPA/CMA is a plus
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations and compliance requirements including technical accounting under GAAP
- Experience working with NetSuite ERP is a plus
- Familiarity with construction contracts, project management methodologies and construction-related regulations a plus
- Strong Excel skills relative to data processing and analysis such as complex pivot tables, V/H/X LOOKUP, SUMIFS, etc. with more advanced skills such as macros, Power Query, etc. valued
