    Position Summary:

    GEOST seeks a highly capable Engineering Technician with recent experience in successfully building and testing high technology electro-mechanical systems. The successful candidate will be a critical team member on our efforts to support electro-optical space missions, ground-based sensor networks, and research and development efforts targeting new and innovative technologies.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Work with engineers to develop detailed test procedures.
    • Build, maintain, and test systems mockups and program deliverable hardware.
    • Configure and operate computer systems in accordance with test requirements.
    • Ensure that test procedures are performed in a safe, effective, and efficient manner.
    • Record and analyze test and hardware configuration data.
    • Fabricate, assemble, install, and process electrical-optical parts, materials, hardware, wiring harnesses, and components into complete assemblies.
    • Enter and retrieve production data into and from computer systems.
    • Perform work tasks that are incidental to primary job duties, to include tasks that may require the safe use of commonly available tools.
    • Clean and maintain work areas, tools, and equipment.
    • Obtain and maintain certifications essential to the accomplishment of required work tasks.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Required Skills

    • An Associate Degree (Bachelor's Degree preferred) in engineering, applied science, electronics, or a related field with a minimum of five years of relevant experience supporting the manufacturing, testing, and assembly of aerospace or electrical-mechanical hardware, or an appropriate combination of education and experience.
    • Experience working in a dynamic and high-visibility role.
    • Self-motivation and the ability to determine and perform essential tasks with minimal oversight.
    • Ability to study and learn complex systems with minimal instruction.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills and sound problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to support travel and off-site work, as required.
    • Must be able to work unsupervised.
    • An active U.S. Government Security Clearance or the ability to obtain a Clearance. Current SSBI is preferred; please note if applicable.

    Preferred Skills

    • Experience with operating laboratory testing equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters, frequency counters, spectrum analyzers, etc.).
    • Hands-on expertise reading and working from detailed schematics and drawings.
    • Experience with test plan development.
    • Experience building multi-pin connectors and plugs.
    • Experience building space payloads.
    • Programming experience.
