At World View, the Electronics Technician will be responsible for assembly and repair of complex electronic systems that help power and navigate our balloon system and aerospace vehicle.


Role Responsibilities

  • Under direct supervision, assembles and installs electrical components and keeps detailed written records
  • Refurbishes avionics systems as directed by senior technical staff
  • Recommends improvements, modifications, and bug fixes
  • Supports engineers with Instrument development and trouble shooting
  • May provide technical support for payload integration or flight operation
  • Performs tasks using documented procedure, specifications, drawings, or written engineering instruction
  • Follows standard processes including requests for engineering evaluation/change and standard manufacturing data systems
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 13 years as an Electronics Technician, or related, experience
  • A 2year degree in electronics or similar training obtained in the military
  • Demonstrated ability to perform electronics assembly without help from others, such as but not limited to soldering, crimping, coating, and circuit testing
  • Currently have or ability to get IPC certification. Must consistently abide by ESD requirements in and around ones work station
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Must be able to communicate well with stakeholders both verbally and written
  • Generally, works on the manufacturing floor
  • May be requested to travel with a launch team for technical support
  • Requires the ability to stand for long periods of time
  • May require lifting up to 40lbs

Bonus Points

  • 35 years technician experience on aerospace vehicles
  • Familiarity with CAD tools such as Altium Designer and/or Solid works PDM.
  • IPC-A610 cert and J-STD001 cert
