    Description


    SUMMARYCNC Mill Machinist sets up, operates and programs CNC Mills, OMAX 5 axis Waterjet, completes machining operations and makes adjustments as needed.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESSetup 3, 4, and operate 5th axis and water jet.
    Operate CNC Machining Centers and Manual Mills when necessary.
    Able to trouble shoot production and setup problems.
    Able to write basic CNC programs.
    Work from set-up sheets, blueprints sketches etc.
    Verify CNC programs by running First Article Part for QA approval.
    Able to use all types of shop floor inspection equipment to inspect parts.
    Keep machines, work area, and equipment clean and free of debris.

    Properly maintains coolant as necessary, including removal of containments, proper dilution ratio and cleaning and recharging machine of coolant when necessary or when requested by supervisor.

    Other duties as assignedHave knowledge of ISO and Aerospace standards - preferred QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to work in a face paced environment, meet deadlines and stand for long periods of time.

    EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent 5 years of experience in set up, operation and programming of CNC machiningExperience with lathe machining aluminum, stainless, titanium, InconelMust be able to work in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines, and stand for long periods of timeComputer Skills:
    Familiarity with the basic operation of CNC machines and the understanding of G and M code is required. Familiarity with computers running a Windows operating system running standard Windows applications is desired.
    OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIESMust be able to lift 25lbs.

    unassistedMust be able to stand for extended periods (8 hours minimum)Must be able to stoop, bend, crawl, and maneuver in tight spacesRepetitive movement, twisting, physical dexterity with tools or controls, and tolerance of sounds and noise levels are generally required to perform the functions of this positionExperience with 5 axis programming - preferredUnderstanding of on-machine touch probes - preferredAbility to read and work off a blueprint - preferredWORK CONDITIONS and ENVIRONMENTThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
