    Required Qualifications


    Education/Experience:

    • BS in Business Administration or Accounting required OR an equivalent combination of education and applicable experience;
    • A minimum of seven to eight years progressive payroll and timekeeping experience required preferably utilizing Oracle HRMS or PeopleSoft applications.

    Skills:

    • Highly developed technical skills including MS Excel, Word and Access
    • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, federal /state tax regulations including garnishment and support laws
    • Prior supervisory experience
    • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
    • Must possess excellent time management and communication skills and have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
    • Must be able to develop recommendations and implement changes designed to enhance/improve day-to-day payroll processes and tasks assigned to payroll staff.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills required with ability to interact effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, ability to set priorities, handle multiple tasks/demands simultaneously, work independently, exercise professional judgement in completing responsibilities, and maintain confidentiality.

    Job Summary

    Temporary Position:

    The initial appointment period is 20 months ending on February 1, 2026 and is conditioned on satisfactory performance as determined by the Controller's Office.

    This appointment may be extended based on satisfactory performance and the needs of the Enterprise Resource Planning project. At the conclusion of the project, the position will end and your employment with RIT will be terminated.


    Provide oversight and direction for the University's exempt and non-exempt payroll processing, timekeeping, non-resident alien tax reporting and employee reimbursements.

    Act as a role model for and foster a culture of providing excellent service to the University community and external customers.
