Summary:
In this role, you will work with a group of Vizient health systems that have aggregated their purchasing volume to drive significant cost savings.
As a strategic sourcing lead, you will be charged with delivering best-in-class contracting strategies and performance improvement through independent leadership that results in supply chain cost reductions.
Responsibilities:
Work independently to manage a portfolio of multi-disciplinary contracts; uses advanced negotiation skills to manage complex contract terms and conditions; drives portfolio strategy in obtaining member input from member committees and/ or task forces.
Work in collaboration with an engagement to maximize the best Vizient price tier, enhance existing Vizient national agreements and create custom agreements on behalf of the engagement.
Conduct ongoing price monitoring and contract maintenance utilizing Vizient benchmarking tools to review existing agreement market relevance and pricing for negotiations.
Communicate project expectations, updates, and potential risks to team members and stakeholders, which may include leadership, while providing appropriate resolution and recommendationsLead the bid process and generate Request for Proposals (RFP's). Based on member input work with suppliers on specific terms and conditions and pricing to achieve market relevant value.
Present savings initiatives and contracting updates at engagement meetings.
Develop, maintain, and mentor others to create strong relationships with suppliers, and internal and external customers across all product and service lines.
Qualifications:
Relevant degree preferred. Advanced degree a plus.
Five or more years of relevant experience working in a contracting, contract management or supply chain related role required.
Advanced Microsoft Office Suite knowledge (Word, Excel, Power Point).
Must possess strong relationship building and strategic partnering skills.
Must possess strong project management skills.
Strong health care contracting background with experience in successful contract negotiations highly preferred.
Experience leading and managing purchased services initiatives preferred.
Detail-oriented with strong written, interpersonal, presentation, communication, and group facilitation skills.
Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure, and results-oriented environment.
Willingness to travel.
