Job Description:
As the
Controller
you will uphold the highest standard of financial integrity at our venues. Working alongside the VP of Finance, the
Controller
plays a key role in supporting and managing financial activities, ensuring compliance, and contributing to strategic financial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
·
Collaborate with department heads to gather data and contribute to the development of annual budgets and forecasts.
·
Support the VP of Finance in monitoring budget variances and providing recommendations for improvement.
·
Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of internal control processes to safeguard company assets.
·
Assist in conducting internal audits to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
·
Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, supporting the VP of Finance in analysis and presentation to executive management.
Review work performed by finance and accounting staff.
·
Assist the VP of Finance in supervision of finance and accounting staff.
·
Support the VP of Finance in managing daily cash flow operations and analyzing liquidity needs.
·
Work alongside the VP of Finance to ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and legal requirements.
·
Assist in facilitating annual audits and addressing audit-related matters.
Qualifications:
·
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification or progress toward CPA is preferred.
·
A minimum of 5 years' experience in finance and accounting; hospitality background is a plus.
·
Experience in operational finance, including cost accounting and planning.
·
Centralized accounting background is a plus.
·
Expertise in accounting principles (specifically US GAAP), procedures, internal controls, and income tax regulations is required.
·
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products and QuickBooks.
·
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong guest service orientation.
·
Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
