GEMRT is a growing public accounting firm based out of Coral Gables and is looking for career-minded professionals within the accounting industry. Our formula is simple: great people + engaging work + compelling leadership = a fantastic place to work.

    We are looking for individuals who have basic accounting experience and want to take their career to the next level by joining our tax, audit or outsourcing team. We have been growing the last few years and are now a firm of about 70+ people, so there are plenty of opportunities for mentorship, growth and technical development.

    Desired Skills/ Experience/Attributes

    • 1-2 years of experience performing basic bookkeeping/accounting, bank reconciliations, and data and journal entries.
    • Working knowledge of QuickBooks, Microsoft Office (especially Excel). Additional software a plus.
    • Proven ability to handle a high-volume workload at a high level of efficiency.
    • Ability to work with peers, staff and senior management collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
    • Has strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Has exceptional organizational and time management skills.
    • Is a detail-oriented individual contributor.
    • Possesses a high level of integrity and respects quality assurance requirements.
    • Is committed to fostering and maintaining a service culture.
    • Bachelor's in Accounting (OR 3 years' experience in Bookkeeping/Accounting)

    The ideal candidate for this position:

    • 1-2 years of experience preparing individual and corporate tax returns.
    • Experience with ProSystems FX and Engagement or other tax software.
    • Experience calculating and filing Sales and Payroll Taxes.
    • Experience in working in public accounting or a professional services organization.
    • Has an entrepreneurial drive.

    Education Requirements

    • Bachelor's and/or Master's in Accounting
