Duties:


DUTY 1
:

Performs duties involving the processing and exploitation of complex intelligence information. Situations/information coordinated, integrated, and analyzed are not susceptible to generally accepted methods.


DUTY 2
:

Presents ISR capabilities to a variety of service, national, and coalition customers. Provides Commanders and other customers intelligence information and evaluation derived from ISR assets to maximize their own forces' effectiveness by optimizing friendly force strengths, exploiting adversary weaknesses, and countering adversary strengths.


DUTY 3
:

Serves as a functional authority on ISR geospatial intelligence issues. Makes recommendations and defends decisions on operational policy matters to THE 497 ISR Group leadership and ultimately the Group Commander; often required to make recommendations on committing large expenditures of funds or resources impacting future capabilities and programs.

  • U.S. Citizenship Required
  • All new DCIPS employees are required to complete a twoyear DCIPS trial period.
  • Position is designated specialsensitive, incumbent must be able to obtain and retain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). A nondisclosure agreement must be signed.
  • Must be registered for Selective Service, see Legal and Regulatory Guide
  • This position has been designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.
  • The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments
  • Employee must maintain current certifications
  • Disclosure of Political Appointments

Qualifications:


  • In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions,
    Administrative and Management Positons

This is a GG-13 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-13 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-13 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job

Having quality level experience which demonstrates knowledge of the full range of intelligence research, processing, and exploitation methods, techniques, and practices using multi-source intelligence information to capture and report intelligence information in a usable form that directly or indirectly affects national security; interprets policy and commits resources impacting intelligence capabilities


Note:

Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

  • 1. Knowledge of the full range of imagery intelligence research, processing, and exploitation methods, techniques, and practices using multi-source intelligence information to capture and report intelligence information in a usable form that directly or indirectly affects national security; interprets policy and commits resources impacting intelligence capabilities. Specific focus on High Altitude and Full Motion Video PED, experience in program management/projects and planning, ability to stay current in the IC environment.
  • 2. Knowledge of advanced USAF and national ISR processing and exploitation, and PED capabilities, systems, and multisource intelligence production policies to process and exploit complex information/situations attained from multiple sources.
  • 3. Knowledge of the national intelligence community, Joint, DoD structure, organizations, mission/functions, interrelationships, and operations.
  • 4. Skill in conducting unbiased complex research, identifying appropriate available systems/data sources, and producing processing and exploitation requirement assessments that answer specific tasks to link and leverage capabilities in support of consumers, customers, and clients.
