    Job Description

Do you have expert knowledge of the construction industry and are naturally inclined to be an advocate for others? Does your genuine interest in understanding the needs of customers and being their hero energize you? In this role, every day you will get to be that advocate and hero – also known as the "voice of customer".

Your work, understanding the customer's needs, will be the key ingredient to enabling our marketing and sales teams to guide more customers to choose Sage to grow their business.

*While product marketing experience is preferred, we are open to candidates without prior product marketing experience who have substantial knowledge from having worked in the construction industry and/or for a construction software company in any of the following capacities: sales, pre-sales engineer/solutions consultant, solutions architect, construction operations/project management.

    Location:
Hybrid – 2 days per week (or a mutually agreeable cadence with your leader) from either our Beaverton, Oregon; Atlanta, or Lawrenceville Georgia offices

    About Sage & Corecon:

We're thrilled to announce that Sage, a trusted financial management software provider for small and medium-sized construction businesses, has recently acquired Corecon, an easy-to-use software for planning, and managing construction projects.

Corecon is designed to make it easier for construction companies to win new projects, collaborate with their teams from anywhere, work more efficiently, and boost profitability.

This means Sage now offers a complete solution from start to finish - from handling finances to seamless project management, empowering construction businesses and their teams like never before.

    What will you do? Summary:
In collaboration with a senior product marketer, product management, marketing (demand gen/growth marketing), and sales teams:

    • Market research & voice of customer – conduct market research by connecting with existing and new customers and using the voice of customers to understand how our products align to meet their needs.
    • Messaging development & contribute to content creation - use those customer insights to contribute to product positioning and crafting core messaging in a variety of marketing materials.
    • Sales enablement – use your customer knowledge to assist in creating new sales assets for the sales team, educate them on the problems we solve for prospective customers, and teach them how and when to use it.
    How will you do it?

    • Curiosity – will be your driver to understanding customer needs.
    • Relationship Building – building trusting relationships with customers, product management, marketing, and sales teams will help you tremendously.
    • Focus – "seeing the forest from the trees" with a focus and determination to understand the customer's needs and achieve our goals.
How will you be supported? Your first 30,60,90 days:
Your 30-60 days will be all about learning. Don't worry, you won't be going at it alone. You'll have the support of your leader, a senior colleague, and various resources to tap into.

You'll familiarize yourself with the Sage brand, systems, workflows, meeting teams, building relationships, and understanding our construction & real estate product line.

Within 90 days, you'll have gained enough confidence to actively contribute and start conducting customer interviews. Instead of approaching them as a product expert, you'll maintain an open mind. Your natural curiosity will propel you to ask insightful questions and truly listen to understand.

    What's in it for you?
In addition to a comprehensive compensation package ($XXXK base + 20% annual bonus + benefits), you'll:

    • Grow your skills at a stable, global software company supporting our largest industry portfolio – we've only scratched the surface of its full potential
    • Learn from a collaborative team of highly experienced product marketers who are eager to mentor and support your success while on the path to career growth opportunities.
    • Join a working environment that embodies our values (Human, Bold, Trust & Simplify), emphasizes work-life balance, and prioritizes giving back through our Sage Foundation (5 paid volunteering days per year).

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Extensive knowledge of the construction industry and/or construction software (required)
    • 2 years of *product marketing experience owning market intelligence & research ("voice of customer"), product positioning & messaging, and sales enablement (flexible)
    • Copywriting – while having an English major isn't necessary, you should be able to use customer insights to contribute to the development of compelling messages that truly connect with our customers. As part of the application process, we'll ask you to provide a writing sample to demonstrate your writing abilities. Marketing collateral samples are preferred, but not a requirement.
    • Ability to travel 10% (amounts to a total of ~3 weeks out of the year)

    Plenty of perks:

    • Competitive salaries that landed us top 5% of similar-sized companies (according to Comparably)
    • Competitive annual bonuses paid every June & December
    • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage
    • 401(k) retirement match (100% matching up to 4%)
    • 32 days paid time off (21 personal days, 10 national holidays, 1 floating holiday)
    • 18 weeks of paid parental leave for birth, adoption, or surrogacy offered 1 year after hire date
    • 5 days paid yearly to volunteer (through Sage Foundation)
    • $5,250 tuition reimbursement per calendar year starting 6 months after hire date
    • Sage Wellness Rewards Program ($600 wellness credit and $360 fitness reimbursement annually)
    • Library of on-demand career development options and ongoing training offerings
