- Provide leadership to the entire business area, fostering commitment and pride in the organization's work.
- Oversee and cultivate relationships with key thought leaders, research organizations, trade groups, and other entities leading discussions on public policy matters.
- Collaborate with leaders across business lines to develop Institute initiatives that benefit the business and the community, influencing decisions across the enterprise.
- Decide which issues and initiatives the Company will undertake, handle public engagement and communication strategies, and maintain expertise on relevant public policy and economic matters.
- Speak at external events/conferences and media outlets on behalf of the Company regarding emerging initiatives.
- Engage with field leadership to advise on leveraging activities for top agents and business relationships, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance in collaboration with legal teams.
- Travel up to 30% and perform other assigned duties.
- Master's Degree preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of public policy, economic issues, insurance industry, corporate responsibility, sustainability programs, and public sector organization activities preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree required.

Compensation Overview
The annual base salary range for this position is a nationwide market range covering a broad spectrum of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary will be determined by various factors, including scope, complexity, location of the role, skills, education, training, credentials, experience of the candidate, and other employment conditions. Additionally, employees are eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?
As an AVP for Public Policy Initiatives, you will lead public policy initiatives and educational campaigns within the Travelers Institute to enhance dialogues on issues affecting the insurance industry. Representing Travelers internally and externally, you have the chance to elevate Travelers' reputation in the community and the marketplace. Leading a team that utilizes Travelers' risk management expertise, you will build relationships across various sectors to enhance public dialogue, driving value for communities and the business.
