- Respond to incoming calls, e-mails, fax, and processing customer orders.
- Assist customers in verifying product needs, identify product availability, process deliveries, returns, and assist in obtaining documentation such as MSDS or COA forms.
- Resolve pricing issues in conjunction with the Sales department.
- Follow up with customers on past due invoices.
- Utilize strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with other internal teams to ensure customer/order objectives are met.
- Provide feedback to manager(s) with reference to trends, possible problem areas and suggestions to improve overall departmental/company goals.
- Handle escalated customer complaints and inquiries as needed.
- Data entry and information gathering from the ERP System as well as other web-based platforms.
- Assist Hawkins Transportation with the daily delivery schedule to ensure customer expectations are met.
- Other duties as assigned
- 1 - 3 years related customer service experience preferred
- Demonstration of active listening and strong problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written skills
- Computer knowledge: MS Office experience required.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and multi-task under various time constraints in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of external and internal customers
- Ability to work independently, knowing when and how to ask questions when work direction may not be immediately available
- Excellent attention to detail and follow through in a consistent manner
