Job description
The mission of Girls Inc. of Columbus is to inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold.
Our comprehensive approach to whole girl development equips girls to navigate gender, economic, and social barriers and grow up healthy, educated, and independent.
Informed by girls and their families, we also advocate for legislation and policies to increase opportunities for all girls and address the systemic barriers that impede girls' success.
Originally founded as The Girls Club of Columbus, Girls Inc. has educated and empowered girls in Columbus since 1952.Through after school and full day summer programs, as well as a year-round sports program, our $1.5 million organization annually serves a diverse group of more than 1,700 girls, ages 6 to 18.
Girls Inc.of Columbus is an affiliate of Girls Inc., which serves nearly 150,000 girls annually through a network of affiliates across the US and Canada.
SummaryThe Program Director is primarily responsible for defining, developing, and implementing the program strategy for the organization.
Additionally, the Program Director will assist the Executive Director in building strong partnerships with schools and community organizations and will serve as an effective leader and advocate for Girls Inc.
programs.Principal Responsibilities
Develop overarching program strategy and delivery method for Girls Inc. of Columbus.
Customize and implement the program strategy so that it meets the needs of girls.
Establish program evaluation methodology that assesses program impact.
Engage with program partners and schools to identify girls' specific needs and strengthen Girls Inc. programming.
Explore the changing interests and developmental needs of girls to keep up to date with changing patterns.
Recruit, train, inspire and manage a team of program facilitators to ensure high-quality programming and achieve organizational impact.
Manage compliance with Girls Inc
national outcomes measurement strategy:
oversee and direct ongoing data collection and annual survey administration.
Analyze outcome data to identify opportunities for program improvement.
Monitor and achieve programmatic commitments and reporting requirements for grant-funded programs.
Collaborate with Sports Program Manager to ensure effective program integration and delivery.
Periodically review program content to ensure relevance.
Provide programmatic training for volunteers as needed.
Communicate with parents regarding current programming content, goals and outcomes.
Identify, establish, and nurture community resources to increase program opportunities for girls.
Participate in staff meetings and conferences to share ideas and concerns, and work collaboratively with other staff to meet organizational goals and achieve program objectives.
Participate in periodic performance self-assessment and develop goals and objectives for professional growth.Participate in training and other professional development opportunities.
Ability to leverage technology to ensure effective

Employment by Girls Inc.
for all positions is contingent upon successfully passing a criminal background check, including a sex offender check, as well as a pre-employment drug screening and a review of Department of Motor Vehicles records as required and allowable by law.

RequirementsBachelors required preferably in degree in education, child development, recreation, psychology, and/or sociology
3+ years' experience in direct staff supervision and program administration and evaluation
3+ years' experience working in a youth organization or a related field
Experience with curriculum and course design
Ability to communicate with children and foster their engagement in program planning, problem solving, and decision making
Ability to inspire, stimulate and encourage creativity and innovation among program staff
Ability to develop and implement programs that are responsive to the specific needs and interests of girls
Experience directing a multi-faceted program
Highly organized with proficient technology and data management skills
Effective oral and written communication
Demonstrated ability to facilitate collaborative work among people with diverse backgrounds and skill levels
Flexibility and ability to problem solve
Detail Oriented
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with minimal direct supervision
