- Design economically viable, technically feasible, and reliable substation physical and control layouts.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, offering engineering solutions and guidance on complex issues.
- Lead and direct an engineering team to ensure quality drawing and engineering production.
- Develop accurate cost estimates to assist in company budgeting and identify cash flow requirements.
- Maintain coordination and communication with other departments to adhere to project schedules and budgets.
- Contribute to the development of detailed project timelines and keep the project management system updated.
- Monitor project expenditures and practice cost control to meet financial commitments.
- Ensure quality control and provide construction support through site inspections and coordination with construction teams.
- Assist other departments with non-standard or complex substation design challenges.
- Oversee and evaluate the work of department staff to ensure high standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
- At least 15 years of industry experience in a highly technical and specialized role within engineering.
- Extensive knowledge of substation/control engineering principles, economic analysis, budgeting procedures, and relevant regulations.
- Proven ability to direct and coordinate a team of engineers, technicians, and designers.
- Strong independent decision-making skills and the capability to solve unusual problems.
- Proficient with PCs, word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
- This position is based in a general office environment with no special physical demands.
