    Description:

    Position Summary
    Staff Nurse I is responsible for delivering patient care using a Nursing Process and Relationship-Based Care model. The role involves providing direct patient care, enhancing patient outcomes, and integrating best practices into clinical care. The Staff Nurse I contributes to quality patient care and achieves organizational goals through teamwork and excellence.

    Duties & Responsibilities


    - Provides direct patient care ensuring safety and security.
    - Demonstrates clinical expertise and implements prescribed interventions.
    - Develops, implements, and updates patient care plans based on assessments.
    - Adheres to UI Health's Code of Conduct and performs related duties assigned.

    Qualifications:
    Minimum Qualifications
    • Eligibility for RN licensure in Illinois
    • Current AHA BLS/CPR certification
    • Effective communication skills for building therapeutic relationships
    • Intermediate computer skills and ability to learn Electronic Health Record system
    • BSN from an accredited program
    • 1-2 years of inpatient Psychiatric experience

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Med/Psych experience
    • Psychiatric Nurse certification preferred
    • Prior charge nurse experience
    • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and attendance skills
