Nichols House is hiring a Family Development Case Manager to create and oversee Circles of Support and "From Surviving to Thriving" programs for current or past participants of Nicholas House.

These programs are designed to help families move up and out of poverty.

Nicholas House is adopting the national Circles of Support model as part of our program to assist families who are or have experienced homelessness in achieving their goals towards financial stability.

The underlying foundation of Circles and the accompanying "From Surviving to Thriving" program is to engage people and organizations in the community to move families permanently out of poverty.

Circles works to help families increase their income and economic stability while also working to remove the barriers that keep people in poverty.

Our "From Surviving to Thriving" short term program that can lead into the longer term Circles program is a 12 week course that helps parents gain a better understanding of themselves and their relationship to the rest of the world.

Participants will create budgets, future plans, and SMART goals and grow in community with others.

The Circles of Support program is 18-24 months and is designed to work with families over the long term to make significant gains in their financial stability.

Both Circles of Support and "From Surviving to Thriving" are a community-based initiative that creates relationships across economic class lines, matching people of low income (Circle Leaders) with middle- or upper-income volunteers (Allies).

The Family Development Case Manager ensures those relationships thrive and that Circle Leaders have access to resources, so they continue to progress.

The Family Development Case Manager's primary role is to work with Circle Leaders (Nicholas House participants) and Allies (community volunteers).
