    Description

    We are looking for a highly skilled and versatile Automation & Controls Engineer to join our dynamic team.

    This person will be a member of the Product Engineering team responsible for designing the detailed electrical and control systems of Carbon Capture's Direct Air Capture product line, developing and maintaining PLC and HMI controls, testing and validating process controls, troubleshooting sensors and instruments, and collaborating with project stakeholders.

    ResponsibilitiesPLC Programming:
    Design, develop, and maintain PLC programs for automation and control systemsHMI Development: Create intuitive and user-friendly Human-Machine Interfaces to monitor and control machineryHardware-Software Integration: Collaborate to seamlessly integrate software and hardware components in automation systemsCommissioning: Lead or assist in the commissioning of automation systems, ensuring functionality and reliabilityTroubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient operations

    Version Control:
    Utilize version control tools to manage code changes and ensure a structured development processDocumentation: Generate and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation for projectsRequirementsBachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, or related field5+ years of experience in a professional engineering environmentDemonstrated proficiency with PLCs or embedded/mechatronic systems, Twincat/Beckhoff environment preferredExperience with SCADA, MES, Historians, Real-Time Monitoring and/or Multi-Server/Multi-Client systems, and Inductive Automation solutionsFamiliarity with DevOps principles and version control tools such as GIT, SVN, or BITBUCKETStrong understanding of design patterns and their use casesComfortable developing software for desktop or cloud applications targeting Windows and/or LinuxDemonstrated ability to work with multiple development languages including IEC standard, ST preferably while adopting OOP principlesKnowledge of IT and networking principles such as IPV4, IPV6, managed switches, VLANs, RDP, and VM configurationSolid understanding of industrial communication protocols (EtherCAT, OPC UA, MQTT, ADS, Modbus, ProfNet, etc.)

    Ability to interpret electrical wiring diagrams and test electrical components using a multimeterAbility to assist in wire harnessing and machine commissioningExcellent communication skills for effective collaborationAbility to work in a fast-paced environment, meeting project goals and deadlinesAdherence to safety practices and an understanding of industry-specific safety standardsDesired BackgroundExposure to an R&D environment and industrial product development cyclesFamiliarity with automation industry trends and emerging technologiesAdditional certifications or training in automation technologies$110,000 - $130,000 a yearPay is commensurate with experience (base:
