    Description
    This position is for the full academic year, open only to enrolled upperclassmen. Freshmen are NOT eligible for this position.

    Expected hours of work per week: 10-20Work Location & Hours: Ashe and Barnes gyms; Mon-Fri 6am - 11:30pm; Sat 8am-10pmPurpose of the position: Provide assistance to the Athletic Department by supervising gym usage

    Expected Duties and Responsibilities:
    Your priorities areSupervise the facility,Maintain the fitness, aerobic, and weight rooms.
    You need to stay active and visible. You are the eyes and ears of the facilitykeep moving and do not wear headphones.

    It should be very rare that you sit down during your shift and if you do, it should only be for 5-10 minutes.

    You are especially not sitting down talking on your cell phone or doing homework.
    Be visible and attentive to all activities taking place in the facility.

    You are to wear a green polo (these are in the closet in the Fitness Room) and circulate the facility.

    Be aware of what activities are taking place in the facility. Be available to answer the questions of those in the facility.
    Supervise Facility Monitors. These individuals are to sit at the desk in Barnes lobby.

    Check in with these individuals and let them know that you are working and they can contact you if they have any issues.

    They are to monitor who enters and exits the facility. They should be wearing a yellow polo while they are working. If they do not have one on please get them one from the top of the stairs in Ashe. They are not to wear headphones or on their cell phone while working. You can check the posted schedules to see who is working at each desk.
    Monitor proper use of gym equipment. Be sure that individuals that are using the facility are using it properly. Do not allow anyone to misuse or abuse equipment or the facility itself. Make sure that all equipment is in its proper place when not in use.


    Equipment Performance Issues:
    Check every machine for any performance issue (loose bolts, pulleys wearing down, etc.).Keep equipment clean & facilities clean. Be sure to pick up any items that are out of place. All trash should be picked up and placed in a trash can.

    All miscellaneous items found in the facility should be placed in one of the Lost & Found containers located in the lobbies of Barnes and Ashe.

    All balls left out should be placed in one of the ball cages in Barnes and Ashe gyms.
    You are to maintain the fitness, aerobics, and weight rooms.
    Stock the carts in each room. Be sure that each cart has clean towels and full spray bottles.
    Be sure the equipment is cleaned.

    Check and be sure that each piece of equipment is wiped down and all equipment is in its proper place.

    Work with laundry workers. Make sure the pink towels are full for the next morning. Ensure that the checklists for facilities stay completed. Supervise gym usage.
