Next Chapter La Crosse Program Description

OUR MISSION: Next Chapter's mission is to build lasting relationships with people who desire to be set free from the cycle of incarceration, restoring them to God, family, and community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We are committed to building men who are self-sufficient in the Lord Jesus Christ.

    Our Reentry Navigation Program

Our Reentry Navigation is a critical component of the services we provide. These services include Personal Guidance, Customized Reentry Plan, and Support for Families and Communities.

Personalized "Walk Along" Guidance Our program offers a personalized approach to supporting individuals through the reentry process. We conduct a thorough assessment of each individual's unique needs, challenges and goals, developing a customized reentry plan. Our Christ-centered, targeted care helps participants successfully navigate the complexities of reentry as they reintegrate into the community through genuine, supportive relationships.

Customized Reentry Plan We use our "Levels of Care" tool to build a customized reentry plan, which includes:

    • · Cost-effective alternative sentencing and probation or extended supervision options.
    • · Collaboration that helps streamline processes, improve communication between agencies, and reduce barriers that individuals face during reentry.
    • · Networking and referrals with other partner programs and living opportunities appropriate for them.
    • · Ongoing progress checkups, care packages, birthday cards, notes of encouragement and guidance with next steps in their reentry process, including the opportunity to join our Discipleship Home program when ready.

Support for Families and Communities By providing guidance and resources to families, friends, churches, and other community organizations involved in the reentry process, our Reentry Navigation program extends its impact beyond just the individual. This community-based approach helps create an environment that supports successful reintegration.

    Our Discipleship Home Residential Program

Our Discipleship Home provides the supportive environment to develop essential life skills for long-term successful reentry. This environment includes a structured program, support network and relationships, meaningful work, and financial stability.

Structured Residential Program Our Discipleship Home offers a six month structured, holistic Christian living program that provides day-to-day support for building life skills, habits, and routines necessary for self-sufficiency and community contribution. This provides a safe and stable environment to establish new lifestyle patterns.

Support Network and Positive Relationships Our Discipleship Home fosters positive relationships within a healthy community setting through staff and volunteer-led resident groups, mentoring, house community building, participation in local churches, and community service opportunities. Participants find the necessary support and encouragement for a successful reentry process.

Meaningful, Income-producing Employment Our program includes full-time employment requirements and monitoring of Department of Corrections compliance. By engaging in meaningful work within the program's framework, residents gain a sense of purpose and significance that helps build resilience in facing challenges during their reentry process.

Financial Stability and Independence Upon successful completion of the residential program, participants are equipped with savings for initial apartment costs, gainful employment, and established connections within a church community. The program focuses on financial budgeting skills and disciplines to empower participants towards financial stability and independence.

Long-Term Impact Our Discipleship Home not only provides immediate support but also aims for long-term impact by preparing individuals to maintain gainful employment, pursue career development opportunities, and establish themselves as self-sufficient contributors to their communities.

Company DescriptionNext Chapter La Crosse provides a pathway and navigation for men out of the cycle of incarceration and back into local communities. We have developed a relational navigation process that allows us to provide personalized "Walk Along" guidance for men through the confusing judicial process of reentry, helping them avoid or overcome the barriers that get in the way of the changes that need to take place for them to get out of the cycle of incarceration. Our pathway also is designed to address three areas of need for these men; establishing safe and secure housing, being in healthy community and participating in meaningful, income producing work. In our six month Christ-centered Discipleship Home residential program we provide the support for these needs to be met through staff and volunteer led resident groups, mentoring, partnerships and referrals with mental health and human services agencies, community recovery groups, educational institutions, and employers.
