    Austin, TX - Remote OK

    Buyer Research Manager

    TrustRadius is looking for an inquisitive, analytical storyteller to join our Research team.

    We are a review site for business technology -- Think TripAdvisor for software. We have 300,000+ reviews and ratings across thousands of business software products on our site. Those reviews are read by millions of professionals each year who know that buying software is hard, and the stakes are high.

    As Buyer Research Manager, youll lead the charge to get to know our audience. Using a mix of qualitative and quantitative research methods, youll track software buying trends across categories. Our Product, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success teams will consult you as an expert in buyer behavior. You will drive innovation by identifying new content, tools, and services that would be most valuable for buyers.

    And youll help TrustRadius deliver on our promise to help software buyers make better decisions.

    Salary range: $65,000-$85,000/year

    **The kinds of projects youll work on:**

    Design a survey for our industry benchmark series on B2B review sites. Explore themes like marketplace dynamics, network effects, and trust. After you analyze the responses, write a report with lots of data visuals. Then present your findings to the company, press, and enterprise clients.

    Run a tiny experiment to learn whether people want to ask software vendors questions anonymously during their purchase process, and how quickly they expect an answer. Use an A/B testing tool to add a button to one product page that gets a lot of visitors. See how many takers you get in a week. Track down the answers to their questions and deliver them personally. Ask them why they wanted to be anonymous, and whether this service met their needs.

    **Who youll work with:**

    **Megan Headley (VP of Research)** - Megan will be your boss and sounding board. Shes got a background in journalism and marketing, and years of experience learning about B2B technology buyers. Shell help you shape the right lines of inquiry, make connections with the right people internally, and advise on the implications of your findings for our business strategy. Megan never stops in the middle of a good book, and she may or may not be a secret Taylor Swift fan.

    **Vinay Bhagat (CEO)** - Vinay is a fan of sports cars, metal music, and vegetarian food. Hell be a strong executive sponsor for your research. Hell almost always push you to dig deeper. When youve uncovered something new and interesting, Vinay will be all ears. Hes an early adopter of new research. So you might even hear him incorporate the information into a speech about his vision the very next day.

    **Mike Galyen (CPO)** - Mike leads our Product strategy for buyers (free community resources) as well as for vendors (paid tools for marketers). Hes an expert on marketplace dynamics and growth flywheels. He believes in rigorous measurement and continuous learning, through quantitative and qualitative means. Mikes team will develop hypotheses based on your research. Hell also ask for your help with ad-hoc surveys and polls. If you meet any buyers who would like to join our Product advisory panel, Mike will rely on you to recruit them.

    **Tanner Judge (Product Manager)** - Tanners a hockey player, but really he loves watching and playing sports of all kinds. Tanner translates research into reality for our community. Hell be super curious about what youre learningand how it might eventually fit into our Product roadmap Tanner will invite you to brainstorming, design, and ticket grooming sessions to get your take on how well updates can best serve buyers. When youre testing out a new concept in a small batch, hell be the first to ask questions about how we might eventually scale, automate, integrate, or improve the idea.

    **Kaylin Gilkey (Director, SEO & Engagement)**

    **Katie Pariseau (Head of Enablement)** - KP works out of a treehouse When you learn something really juicy that you think our salespeople, customers, and prospects need to know, KP will be your partner in crime to create the right training.

    Plus a crack team of analysts who specialize in different software markets: Katie Allison, Neil Chandavarkar, Paul Ladd, and Aidan Kennedy.

    **A bit about you (yes, these are real requirements):**

    Youve done qualitative research in a business context before. Maybe you were a user researcher or a market researcher in a previous role. (1-3 years of relevant experience minimum. If its in B2B, thats a plus.)

    Youve got a bachelors degree in something - Psychology, Political Science, English, Economics, Chemistry, Theatre, etc. (If youve got a masters degree or other certifications, thats a plus.)

    You submit a cover letter telling us why youre perfect for the job.
