The Department of Population Health at the Dell Medical School is looking for a Research Engineering/Scientist Associate I.


The PRIDE Health Lab in the Department of Population Health is hiring a Research Engineering/ Scientist Associate I for a study recently funded by the National Institutes of Mental Health focused on exposure to early life adversity in sexual and gender minority adult populations.

Purpose

Under the supervision of the Primary Investigator and senior staff.

The RESA I will provide support in executing a range of duties which includes but is not limited to:

study participant recruitment/interviews, data collection, data entry, organizing collected information, records management, and communicating with team members on the status of project(s).

This position is 2 years with the possibility of extension, dependent on performance and funding with a 6/1/24 start date.

Funding expected to continue till 05/31/2026.


Responsibilities:


  • Under the supervision of project leadership and senior staff conduct qualitative data collection (e.g., indepth interviews, focus groups).
  • Support and manage recruitment for an interview study.
  • Under the supervision of project leadership and senior staff analysis of qualitative data.
  • Support dissemination and community engagement activities, specifically community dissemination activities.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in sociology, anthropology, psychology, public health, health education, community health, education, educational psychology, or related field. Relevant experience working in a scientific research setting, social services, or comparable healthoriented field. Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated detail orientation, ability to follow through, and strong problemsolving skills. Ability to work independently and on a team. _Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate._
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with academic and community dissemination activities (e.g., manuscript, conference presentation, town halls, social media, policy briefs, community reports) specifically experience with sexual and gender minority health research, mental health research, and/or early life adversity research. Experience with sexual and gender minority health research, mental health research, early life adversity research, or related field. Experience with implementing study protocols. Experience with qualitative analysis software (e.g., Nvivo, Dedoose). Publications focused on sexual and gender minority health.
Salary Range

$40,000 + depending on qualifications


Working Conditions- May work around standard office conditions.- Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.- Occasional weekend, overtime and evening work to meet deadlines.- Field work as necessary.
