    Description

    Summary

    Responsible for accounting, financial reporting and other business related functions of Concord Hospital or one of its subsidiaries or affiliates. Works closely with managers of departments on issues relating to the financial management of their departments.

    Education

    Four years of formal training or education beyond the high school level (e.g., Bachelors Degree).

    Certification, Registration & Licensure

    None required.

    Experience

    Minimum of 3 years general accounting experience or 3 years health care accounting experience.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for accurately maintaining the Concord Hospital fixed asset system.
    • Manage the month-end and year-end close for fixed assets across the system. Responsible for sending annual reporting to cost center managers for asset review, to ensure that any disposed assets are appropriately recorded as such, or assets that have transitioned to other departments, are reflected as such.
    • Assist with budgeting for depreciation across the health system as requested.
    • Responsible for reviewing daily cash transactions with the bank, and reconciling daily banking activity within Workday.
    • Deposits cash, from the Safe, on an as needed basis, and accurately records in Workday and reports on cash collections.
    • Performs and reports on internal audits, as requested. Including but not limited to petty cash audits, Helping Hands audits, Safe audits, and Expense Report audits.
    • Responsible for reconciling general ledger accounts, as assigned, and addressing reconciling items in a timely manner.
    • Responsible for approving Expense Reports, as assigned, to ensure compliance with Concord Hospital policy.
    • Responsible for reviewing and approving Supplier Change requests, in accordance with Concord Hospital policy.
    • Under the supervision of the Accounting Manager, responsible for accounting for leases, internal and external, and tracking of lease activity, as requested.
    • Responsible for tracking and review of grant activity, assuring that grants are recorded and tracked in a manner compliant with grant requirements. Responsible for working with grant points of contact in creating and submitting invoices for reimbursement, in accordance with grant guidelines, as assigned.
    • Performs other duties, and participates in other projects, within the department as assigned by management.
    • Provides backup as needed to Accounting department in Financial Statement support.
