    Grace Bible Church (Washington, IL) Senior Pastor

    THE BIG PICTURE

    Grace Bible Church ) is seeking a full-time Senior Pastor who is relational, a motivational leader and effective biblical teacher who will work with the church and its leadership to lead Grace Bible Church into the new season of life and ministry God has for us.



    Requirements

    The Church

    Grace Bible Church (GBC) is an independent Bible Church which formed in 1958 with 79 charter members. The church family continued to grow and in 1960 they moved into the first sanctuary located on our present campus. Additional facilities were added to this original building in 1971 and 1989. Our current facilities include the sanctuary, a gym, fellowship hall and classrooms. The Worship Service includes a blend of classic and contemporary songs of worship and a warm family atmosphere with an average attendance of

    Position Summary

    The Senior Pastor of Grace Bible Church of Washington, IL (GBC) will be a passionate follower of Christ who effectively communicates God's Word. He will provide leadership for all aspects of GBC ministry, guiding the church to pursue its mission of Sharing Jesus, Growing Together, and Impacting Our World. He will connect well with individuals and help them to become connected with others in the larger body by promoting appropriate and healthy relationships.

    Qualifications and Giftings

    · Character –A life that demonstrates a true heart for God and a growing relationship with Jesus Christ who also meets the biblical qualifications described in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.

    · Teaching/Preaching - Demonstrates strong grasp of scripture, theology, and apologetics; demonstrates expository preaching skills; making scripture relevant to life issues faced by all generations.

    · Discipling/Mentoring - The ability to model Christlikeness and discipling others to grow in their walk with the Lord in both individual and group settings.

    · Leadership – Working with church leadership to guide the congregation toward our God given vision as we fulfill our mission of Sharing Jesus, Growing Together, and Impacting Our World. This will include equipping the members of the congregation for the work of ministry according to their spiritual giftedness.

    · Education – Bachelor's degree from a Bible College required. Seminary degree desired.

    · Experience – 5 years pastoral experience and/or experience in church leadership positions.

    Roles & Responsibilities

    · Primary teacher/preacher on Sunday morning.

    · Shepherding the congregation, demonstrating care and genuine love.

    · Overseeing the planning of all worship services.

    · Serving as a member of the leadership team in providing overall direction for the church and the development of effective ministries.

    · Work with church leadership to create an intentional discipleship process to develop people to serve in ministry using their God given giftedness. This includes developing a new generation of church and ministry leaders.

    · Overseeing the general administration of the church. This includes providing supervision of other church staff.

    Position Relationships & Accountability

    · The pastor and deacons work together to provide leadership of the church's ministries, meeting shepherding needs of the congregation and prayerfully setting the vision for the church.

    · Grace Bible Church is a congregational church which has delegated the overall administration of the church to the Official Board, made up by the deacons, trustees, pastor and designated ministry leaders.

    · The primary accountability of the pastor is to the Deacon Board.

    · The pastor serves as a leader among equals on the Deacon Board and Official Board.

    $70,000-$85,000 Total Package
