Qualifications
The Minister of Music & Fine Arts should have a demonstrated track record of leadership in music and ministry. A college degree is preferred. The Minister of M&FA should demonstrate a mature Christian faith and commitment to our Lord and Savior.

Musically trained—understands music from a variety of genres and generations, with particular emphasis on contemporary music ("praise and worship," contemporary arrangements of traditional hymns, and the music of the world church)


Responsibilities

  • Along with the Pastor and Protocol Ministry, direct the planning, coordination, operation, and evaluation of the Order of Service for all worship services with the Planning Center app
  • Supervise all paid and nonpaid disciple staff in Music & Fine Arts.
  • Personally direct Music & Fine Arts groups in the light of gifts, and recruit, support, and resource other group leadership. Lead and coordinate choir, praise band, soloists, musical specials or guests, instrumental groups, and other matters as needed/appropriate.
  • Manage equipment, instruments, and music for M&FA including copyrights and library.
  • Develop and implement all strategic processes and systems for M&FA in light of changing resources and community needs.
  • Plan special and seasonal programs in M&FA.
  • Spend quality time with the Pastor to learn his heart, passion, and desired direction of worship
  • Participate in planning the overall service structure including song selection for each Sunday service, special events, funerals, and retreats
  • Assist with the coordination of communion, baptisms, child dedications, etc
  • Lead and work closely with the Media Team regarding all audio and visual needs, including audio and video equipment
  • Prepare an annual music budget for approval and administer the budget.
  • Schedule vocalists and musicians for Sunday services
  • Oversee weekly rehearsals
  • Provide pastoral care for the music department as well as the congregation
  • Must be in the office at least 3 days a week (Tuesday, Thursday, and one other day), outside of Sunday worship services
  • Other responsibilities as agreed upon under the direction of the Senior Pastor.

Education
HS diploma required. Bachelor's degree preferred.


Compensation

This is a full-time position with a salary commensurate with experience, education, and the salaries for similar positions in other churches in our area.
