- Accurately record income, expenses and changes in assets and liabilities on a monthly basis.
- Reconcile all balance sheet accounts and applicable income statement accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Assist Property Managers, Area Vice Presidents and Group Vice Presidents with variance reports included in monthly reporting package.
- Assist Property Managers, Area Vice Presidents and Group Vice Presidents with understanding overall financial performance.
- Prepare monthly bank statement reconciliations and promptly record any reconciling items.
- Calculate monthly property management fee.
- Process debt service, tax, insurance and capital expense payments and ensure/verify payments are made as required
- Responsible for daily cash management.
- Reconcile security deposit liability and assets accounts on a monthly basis.
- Maintains and organizes monthly property files with appropriate support documentation.
- Performs other related duties or special projects as assigned.
- Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Yardi and the internet.
- Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
- Must have the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting is required

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Staff Property Accountant is responsible for the timely and accurate financial reporting of assigned properties. Responsibilities include month-end close for assigned properties, reconciliation of accounts on a monthly basis and assisting property management and accounting department with financial projects as needed.
