- Perform basic Accounting processes, monthly closings, and reviewing account activity
- Reconciliation of general ledger accounts
- Manage and Monitor Trust account activity including issuing settlement checks, refund trust, unapplied cash, and retainers
- Maintain Fixed Assets
- Track COBRA
- Prepare regular and ad hoc monthly reports
- Payment and filing of business taxes, registrations, estimated tax payments and property statements
- Maintain capital and operating leases by keeping schedules
- Stay up to date on AP processes and serve as a back-up for accounts payable
- Additional duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related Degree Program required
- Accuracy and attention to detail a must
- Effective written and oral communication with attorneys, staff, and clients
- Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality with a track record of trustworthiness
- Proven ability to maintain a calm, courteous and professional demeanor at all times, with a positive attitude
- Proficiency with accounting software, a paperless environment and Microsoft Office a plus
- Advanced Excel skills
- Able to multi-task, be organized and work in a high-pressure
- Must be able to think with an analytical mindset
- Experience in a professional services firm a plus
