    Job Description

    Your main tasks will include scheduling appointments, welcoming and registering patients in a friendly manner, addressing patient queries, answering phone calls, updating patient records, checking insurance eligibility, and ensuring a smooth workflow for optimal patient care. The ideal candidate for the Front Desk Receptionist role is efficient, articulate, and has previous experience in a medical office setting. If you excel in customer service, are computer literate, and can juggle multiple tasks, we want to hear from you!

    Hours: 24 hours per week

    Essential Responsibilities:

    • Answering phones
    • Checking messages
    • Managing patient check-in and check-out processes
    • Verifying patient information
    • Collecting co-pays
    • Checking insurance eligibility
    • Monitoring provider schedules for accuracy
    • Addressing patient concerns and escalating issues when necessary
    • Completing end-of-day tasks like financial reports
    • Rescheduling and scheduling patients
    • Confirming appointments
    • Preparing fee slips and charts for the next day's appointments
    • Retrieving notes from referring doctors
    • Handling problem calls and necessary paperwork
    • Establishing good communication with patients, providers, and administrative teams

    Qualifications & Requirements:

    • Reliability
    • Team player
    • Strong communication skills
    • Data entry and typing proficiency
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
    • Exceptional customer service abilities
    • Prior experience as a medical secretary or in similar administrative roles
    • Knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures

    Preferred:

    • Previous experience in ophthalmology
    • Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience

    Job Type: Part-time
