    As the Sales Proposal & Presentation Manager, you will play a pivotal role in spearheading and coordinating the development of communication and presentation strategies for our key accounts and national consulting firms. You will be responsible for crafting compelling, audience-specific content to be utilized in proposals, responses to Requests for Proposal (RFP), Requests for Information (RFI), and various other pre- and post-sale communication materials, including account-specific presentation materials.

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • Bachelor's degree in related field or direct and equivalent work experience. in communications or related field.
    • 4+ years of communications experience that includes strong verbal and written communication/editing skills with the ability to produce creative, engaging content that meets business/stakeholder and customer needs.
    • Excellent writing and content creation skills in alignment with AP Style and brand guidelines.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
    • Strong consultation skills with the ability to influence and solicit cooperation and consensus from stakeholders. Must be able to understand the needs of others, ask meaningful questions, distill relevant information into actionable solutions.
    • Ability to give and take feedback in a constructive manner, and to support cooperation and collaboration across teams.
    • Demonstrated experience presenting complex information and data to groups.
    • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to cultivate and manage key relationships. Professional, polished, and charismatic in approach.
    • Self-starter who can work well independently or as a member of a cross-functional team. Adaptable and flexible with changing priorities.
    • Ability to work independently and function in a team environment.
    • Demonstrated ability to recommend and/or make changes to workflow to improve processes.
    • Proven ability to take prompt action to accomplish objectives and achieve goals.
    • Proactive self-starter with strong organization, prioritization, and time management skills. The ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and deliver proposals on time.
    • Ability to apply strong analytical, problem solving, and critical and strategic thinking to work with vendors and internal departments. Willingness to take an innovative, creative approach to developing solutions.

    Preferred:

    • Bachelor's degree.
    • Experience in the health care, insurance, or related field
    • Strong ability to coach and mentor others.
    Additional Information

    a. Communicate value propositions and customize RFP responses to accounts based on the business needs through professional, high-quality proposals/presentations that have a consistent tone and voice.

    b. Provide technical leadership and consultation to staff in sales and other internal business units in developing key messages and positioning for RFPs and presentation materials. Collaborate with team members to manage the RFP response completion process. Create and execute communication strategies, proposal writing style, and message positioning for RFP / RFI and select pre-sales activities. Write and produce audience specific, persuasive cover letters and executive summaries for RFP/RFIs and account presentations.

    c. Work collaboratively to demonstrate the value of Wellmark's health insurance solutions and produce accurate and timely RFP responses custom-tailored to the account's unique needs. Provide technical leadership in positioning content in RFPs, proposals, other communication vehicles used to sell and retain the business. Develop communications/presentations to support additional sales needs such as on-site visit materials.

    d. Collaborate with Marketing to consult and implement recommendations to promote Wellmark's products and services. Develop teachable points of view for major business units to differentiate our value.

    e. Write new content that reflects consistent corporate style and messaging. Coordinate and collaborate with team members and internal stakeholders on the messaging needs for large group/national accounts. Educate on how our products, services, and processes are marketplace differentiators.

    f. Provide consultation and assistance to the sales staff in developing group-specific presentation materials to communicate Wellmark's value proposition. Lead development of finalist presentations. Create and produce standard proposals. Leverage technology to improve quality of RFP responses and presentations as well as RFP process.

    g. Work with colleagues at other Blue Plans and the BCBS Association in response to national RFPs/RFIs positioning the value of Blue Cross and Blue Shield as a national solution.

    h. Proofread all copy/content thoroughly and edit material in accordance with Wellmark brand guidelines.
